Higgins Partnerships is working closely with Hillingdon Council to deliver a range of social value and community initiatives to benefit local Hillingdon residents and leave a lasting legacy for the area.

The team at Higgins has recently collaborated with Minet Junior School to produce a Community Cookbook, which includes a selection of cultural dishes and recipes from local families.

As part of this exciting project, the team was invited into the school to taste eight different recipes that the children had selected, each having a special meaning to them or their families, before presenting the children with their copies which are also being shared with 450 families/households linked to the school.

The dishes in the book include a variety of delicious options, such as lasagne, meat and vegetable-based curries, pasta dishes, meat and vegetable samosas, and even a milkshake.

Minet Junior School’s Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion said, “This event gave both children and parents a great opportunity to work together. The tasting afternoon was a great success, and it was lovely for the children to have their recipes produced in such a nice book.”

The redevelopment of Avondale Drive and Hayes Town Centre Estates will deliver around 740 new homes, consisting of 50% private sale and 50% affordable with a mixture of apartments and family-sized homes. There will also be attractive high-quality public spaces, a new community centre and better links to parks, the high street and the canal. The phased redevelopment allows as many current residents as possible to move into one of the new homes on site.

The first phase will create 110 new homes, 30 at Avondale and 80 at Hayes Town Centre with residents expected to move in around Summer 2025.
